Hello Soccer Families,
We have some good news to share regarding our ability to return to play this summer. While we are still in Phase 2 of WYSA's guidelines (https://www.ussoccer.com/playon/guides/phase-2-grassroots), they are now allowing for a little more interaction between players, making practice more useful and fun for the players. Additionally, WYSA is targeting a move to Phase 3 in mid-August, which would allow for some inter-league competition.
Along with the announcement of additional interaction in Phase 2, WYSA also announced the cancellation of all sanctioned tournaments for 2020. This was expected and PCYS has been working to create a Fall season that would not include traditional tournament play. We are confident that working through CWSL, we can create a Fall season that will be fun and competitive, if not traditional.
As we work out the details of the Fall season, we would like to have players start practicing! Coaches have been through several meetings regarding safety protocols and will be sharing those protocols with all families before practices begin. Please read and share with your player the information sent to you by your coach or team manager. These procedures are in place for the safety of all involved (players, families, coaches, club, and the community). We will be taking attendance for all practices and players must be registered to practice.
Registration is open and will remain open. Placement on a Spring team is not dependent on Fall play and the fee structure is also not dependent on Fall play. PCYS respects that each family has different circumstances and will make an individual decision. Also note that coaches might be different for Fall as we have some coaches who are not comfortable returning to the fields at this time.
This has been a long process and we hope that this is good news. The fields are open but the bathrooms are not. If you choose to use the facility for individual practice, please follow the safety procedures so we can keep the complex open.
If you have any questions or would like any further information, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
PCYS is in need of the following board and committee positions for 2020 – 2021 Season. All Committee heads oversee their specific committee and represent that committee at the monthly board meetings. They have a board vote and are involved in all discussions regarding PCYS operations. Open positions are listed below:
We are also in need of Committee Members for several of our committees. Serving on a committee is a great way to get involved with the club, meet new people and serve our community. The following committees have openings on them:
